La Nouvelle Eve Paris

« La Nouvelle Eve », a variety and dancing cabaret, took its name in 1949.

Located at the foot of Montmartre, the theatre was built in 1898 and was called the "Fantaisies Parisiennes".

At that time, the famous writer of vaudeville Leon Gaudillot lived just above the cabaret and the plays of FONTAINES, SCRIBE, LABICHE and FEYDEAU were being performed.

Then in 1920, the first topless revue was created by Léo Berryer and the theatre was nicknamed the “Gaîté parisienne
The Paris smart set would talk about it, and during several seasons the "Gaîté" was “the place to be” of the capital. During World War 2, the theatre became a cinema.

Later in the year 1949, under the management of René BARDY, the establishment was redecorated by the architect Maurice Graidaine aand the Belle Epoque style was chosen by the famous interior designer Rigal.
The sumptuous setting, the starlit ceiling, the fluorescent and multicoloured stage and its Corinthian style pediment, gave a unique character to this theatre.

Many revue spectaculars were being produced there, such as the “Extravagances”, “Shocking”, “L’Amour Madame”, “les Filles d’Eve”, “Revue Blanche”. The models were from ERTE, Lucien BERTEAUX, Paul BUGNAUD; the costumes of BALENCIAGA, MAGGY ROUFF and the furs from the famous firm REVILLON.

Many other workshops also participated in this innovative adventure to create wigs, feathers and stage jewels.

In 1966, the new owners, Bernard and Adrien PIERINI seniors, decided to create typically Parisian revues and entrusted Georges Lugosi and later Luis Diaz with the task of producing them.

On the occasion of the 100th year anniversary, a new spectacular revue was directed by Adrien Pierini  with an original music composed by Nicolas SKORSKY to take up again with classical ballet styles combined with the more contemporary choreography by Lianne Scrivener. This « Century show » is a display show of elegance and romanticism.

La Nouvelle Eve invites you to revisit these exiting moments of cabaret which made the history of Paris.
